Industrial Accident in Texas City

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

A BP Industrial Accident in Texas City is being reported today and BP is not talking. According to BP’s refinery spokesperson, two pipefitters have suffered extreme steam burns on large parts of their bodies. One of the employees was transported via helicopter to University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital in Galveston and the other was taken to the Mainland Medical Center in Texas City. As of 7:00am this morning, their conditions have not been released.

This BP refinery was the site of the industrial explosion in 2005 that killed 15 workers and injured over 170. In the past few months, BP has been struggling with the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and is currently under investigation for an apparent 41 day benzene release in the Texas City area.

The lawyers of Burwell Nebout, Houston and Texas City trial lawyers, have successfully handled BP lawsuits over the years. BP Oil Spill Claims

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

One of the only positive things to come out of the BP oil spill is the creation of new rapid response system for future deep-sea oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico.  Four major oil companies have donated over $1 billion to create this new non-profit joint venture to avoid the severe damage to the Gulf of Mexico waters and coastline in future spills.  The lack of this type of rapid response system at the time of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill partially led to the magnitude of destruction now felt by the coastal cities and towns.

Located in the same state and region as the US headquarters of BP, the Law Firm of Burwell Nebout has extensive experience in the local court system where the majority of BP oil spill claims trials are projected to take place.  The lawyers at Burwell Nebout, with over 37 years of experience representing injured workers, will be invaluable resources to have in the fight for compensation from the BP compensation fund or in any legal action brought for relief.
