Industrial Accident in Texas City
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010A BP Industrial Accident in Texas City is being reported today and BP is not talking. According to BP’s refinery spokesperson, two pipefitters have suffered extreme steam burns on large parts of their bodies. One of the employees was transported via helicopter to University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital in Galveston and the other was taken to the Mainland Medical Center in Texas City. As of 7:00am this morning, their conditions have not been released.
This BP refinery was the site of the industrial explosion in 2005 that killed 15 workers and injured over 170. In the past few months, BP has been struggling with the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and is currently under investigation for an apparent 41 day benzene release in the Texas City area.
